Yes. If one is fine-tuned to relatively small differences in sunshine (say because the standard deviation of annual totals, and to a lesser extent monthly totals, is not very high), then one can notice quite smallish deviations.
I think it's easier to notice sunshine differences if they are mostly concentrated in the cooler months. For example, the difference between western upstate NY and Long Island is more obvious since most of the difference is between Nov-Apr.
they are definitely not better than Auckland or Wellington but far better than Dunedin for example
No sunshine data or % quoted for Lulea. I'd pick it to be pretty low all year round.
