Waratah, Tasmania - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mashhad - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's a difficult choice for me but I will go with Waratah.

I'll go with Waratah even though it is a horrific climate. I just can't stand the level of dryness of Mashhad. I would go crazy I think. Also I know that there are much nicer climates close by in Tasmania. Tasmania also has much nicer scenery than Mashhad IMO

Mashhad, at least it gets some summer heat. But I will say that I wish winters there were warmer and that rainfall was more abundant.

Waratah. Mashhad is too hot, but for Iran it could be worse. Waratah is far too wet and I don't like how there is a July low of 33F and a record of 22.5F.

Mashhad - decent warm season, despite slightly-worse winters.

It's a difficult choice for me because I have to choose between the horror of cold summers or very low rainfall. I'll go with Mashdad because I don't think I could survive without any warmth.

The records shown on Wikipedia can be misleading because there is only about 15 years of daily temperature records. There are other stations at similar elevation that have recorded -13C/9F, though it varies depending on the topography. Obviously you can't expect it to get too cold though, because Tasmania has a very maritime climate.

Easy choice, Mashhad. Waratah is comparable with the very worst New Zealand climates. Mashdad has pretty cold winters but at least they're fairly dry and sunny. The climate overall isn't bad at all.
