Which weather event would create the most NEWS for it's location?
Here's the fictional climate edition....

Everlasting Joy- https://www.city-data.com/forum/weath...sting-joy.html
Everlasting Joy reaches an all time record high of 66 F, beating its previous record high by 16 degrees. Skies clear out and the winds calm for that day creating the first warm, short sleeve weather, calm and clear day in recorded history.

Baker's Oasis- https://www.city-data.com/forum/weath...ers-oasis.html
Baker's Oasis gets more rain in a single day than they have in the last 50 years combined. A freak storm breaks through the rain shadow and drops 0.68 inches of rain in a single day. Not only does it break the previous one day record by almost fourfold, but this also happens in March, a month where no previous rainfall has ever been recorded. Damage is major to lots of roofs and outdoors furniture which is all designed on the premise that it never rains.

Ad- https://www.city-data.com/forum/weath...limate-ad.html
A cold front breaks through down to Ad bringing Ad down to a record overnight low of 74 degrees, breaking their previous record by 30 degrees. Not only that, but Ad also sees it's first CLOUD in history as a result of the cold front. although no precipitation comes form it.

I voted for the record rain in Baker's Oasis because it would not only cause major damage but it would also have a major shock value compared to the one day of pleasant weather in Everlasting Joy or the one night of cool, comfortable weather and the cloud sighting in Ad.

I'll go for Record Rainfall in Baker's Oasis. The average annual rainfall in Baker's Oasis is what, 0.01 inches? That's 68 times the average rainfall for a whole year, in a day!
