Local news stations and people on the weather channel often say things like this:
"It's going to be beautiful on Thursday, high of 90 degrees"
That's an opinion. I'm sure there's lots of viewers that would not agree (myself included). Why must they assume that everyone likes it hot?
It's in the high 50's in Boston and they're calling it cold. But don't worry, it will be 100% swamp-a$$y by the end of the week!
Just a pet peeve....
Precisely why I stopped watching local news years ago. I don't need some chirpy office worker telling me how "nice" it is when the only amount of time they spend outside is dashing from their climate controlled office to their climate controlled vehicle and to their climate controlled home.
I have the same complaint, but it is opposite. We have a radio talk show here that constantly whines about the weather. He'll say, "It'll be 80 degrees today, but you won't be able to enjoy it because of the wind." He cries about any weather that is colder than 60 degrees F.
I just find the Weather Channel annoying in general. There is a whole other country besides just the South but that seems to be all they talk about.
They have truckers driving up north. And lifeguards on the west coast. And people digging for gold in the mountains.
Wait a minute, where is the weather?
