The average lows in July and August would be good highs for us here!

Fantastic summer, but AC would be essential.

Absolutely FKing disgusting. Hibernate in A/C for 5 months a year from May-September, no thanks.

Most people in my area start complaining its too hot once temperatures hit 80 F and stall all outdoor activity till 7 PM or later.

C-. Atrocious lack of rain the the summer, and the winter is still too cold. Despite having some extreme highs, the average low of 75 in July is fantastic!

F. Keep in mind that this was the warmest year on record for DC and its average blew away the previous warmest year, 1990 (?), by more than 1.0F. Other astonishing summer records are the third hottest meteorological summer (JJA), second hottest July, all-time June record high, hottest 11-day period (28 June thru 8 July), most 100F days in a month, and highest daily average temp (93.5F on 7 July); that March was also the warmest on record, too. And I had to live through those conditions, too. Awful, awful year.

Although the lack of winter cold is self-evident from the chart, there was only 1 day that entire year with a sub-freezing high; not unprecedented (1974 had none), but abnormal
