Winter showed back up here in Bethel coating the tundra and trees with snow and hoarfrost. Its snowing as we speak. These were taken this afternoon between storm fronts, so called "calm before the storm."

Frosty shrubs....

BRRRR~so far we have lucked out and not had any snow down here. We've had it as early as Sept. some years, but today is absolutely beautiful. Our temp is about 15 degrees above normal. Tonight it will plummet.

I was just thinking about you an hour ago. We went to the movies and they showed a lot of Alaskan scenes. VERY beautiful, but once again~BRRRRR.

yuck! Winter's deep freeze supermaximum security prison again! 5 months of total solitary confinement by old man winter (November, December, January, February, and March), especially come January, when the holidays are over, there is absolutely NOTHING AT ALL for me to look forward to until mid march, and valentine's day is nothing more than a pipe dream.

Guess that's actually a very good reason. Do you ever feel like moving away where it's warmer and there is no winter?

I was down at the lesser 48 for three weeks in August. You can keep the 90's-100's temps. I've also been down there in January a few times and it was comfortably in the 40-50 degree range, I didn't mind that too much. My brother moved to Montana last year and he loves it. I've never thought of leaving here, I like pay scale here.

You need to get out and actually enjoy winter, rather than complain about it. I actually have MORE fun in winter than summer.

Steve, I have extremely low tolerances to cold weather or really anything below 50 degrees. therefore the only way I can possibly enjoy winter is if I am in south florida! In fact, I am so thin blooded that I actually have to wear a plastic bag over my head and face every time the temps are colder than 20, otherwise I'll likely catch frostbite and/or hypothermia.
