Also mild here. The high was 17 C today with clear skies until late afternoon and hardly a breath of wind. I was sunbathing in shorts and t-shirt on the verranda most of the day and it didn't feel like winter at all. This is what I imagine Sydney winters to be like.
The forecast has taken an abrupt turn for the worse however with mostly cloudy skies, frequent rain / drizzle and much more seasonal temps for the week ahead.

If Sydney is anything like Newcastle,
less than 1/3 of all sunny winter days are calm.
Calm conditions seem more common in winter on cloudy or rain days.
Usually it's breezy knocking the "feels-like" temp down 2-3 C.
However with proper landscaping or architecture
it is possible to design an outdoor space that cuts the typical breeze down to a waft (like a soft constant breath)
So it could be like your day today in Christchurch.
*I can manage to sunbathe in typical Newcastle winter afternoons if I want to.
I feel a bit cold but the sun on my skin makes me feel better even after I go back inside
Not only is Brisbane warmer than Newcastle or Sydney,
I find windspeeds are typically 10 km/h less,
so factoring calmer wind (and sometimes humidity)
it's like Brisbane is 1-2 C even warmer than the ambient temp difference.
It was a mild night of just 13.6C last night, now overcast with low cloud but I have only seen very fine drizzle. Rain is forecast for Monday and Wednesday, maybe even some storms on Wednesday which is uncommon during winter.

Glad you're enjoying the milder winter of Brisbane CC.
There may be some cold nights, but most days warm up there into low 20's, not mid to high teens like here.
After that horrible 24ºC day, we are experiencing now a more normal weekend by June standards. But, early in the week, the warmer days will comeback until, at least, the next weekend when it seems like we''ll have (finally) a new polar entry.
Perisher is a beautiful place. It looks like Tahoe with with smaller mountains and dry landscapes to the east - and of course gum trees instead of pines.
18C/64F here at 2.30 pm. 65% RH, so it feels very nice with a strong sun.
