it usually stays green throughout summer... but it has been so dry and sunny recently.
i think in 2010 it was yellow/ dry as well

Not really only during high pressure. The sea is quite a bit colder here.

We get fog in summer occasionally. Mist is more common.

Thanks. Brown is the typical colour here during summer/autumn. This photo shows the back paddocks last autumn after a wetter than average and slightly cooler summer.

Is the fog from the sea breeze? I wouldn't have thought there would be much moisture in the sea breeze, with cooler water temps.

oh the fog is very very moist. Humidity at Malin head is 100%.

You see the airmass is quite a bit warmer than normal and with the sea temps being 13c and inland about 27c it can have quite a big effect.

Unusual. It can be warm inland here and with a warmer sea temp and higher humidity, but no fog, just towering cumulus. I think there is often a land breeze at night, which sends a lot of moisture (potential fog) back out to sea.
