I remember July 2006 very well. I was working in Brighton at the time and just remembered a lot of warm, sunny days. We also visited Budapest over a long weekend and it was very warm there. Admittedly I'm glad we left the UK in Aug 2008 as it seems since then summers have been largely below par

Never again. It was horrible.
Average High temperature for Szczecin was 28.5C.

The forecast for some days in a next week is above 30C
I hope that's not going to happen.

Helsinki missed out on most extreme heat, and July 2006 didn't make the top 5 warmest Julys.

Average high: 24.6C (Highest temp 30.6C.)

I'll rather take July 2010.

July 2006 was warmer than August 2003 in London. August 2003 wasn't even the warmest August.

August 2003: 26.4C (max 38.1C)
July 2006: 28.2C (max 35.5C)

Overall 2003 has covered more places.

In 2006, the Balkan Peninsula was not warmer than usual, even a little cooler.
