Why do you think the Met Office held an emergency meeting about the constant bad weather the UK has been getting? If it was normal they wouldn't have bothered would they

And I never even mentioned 2003 or 2006 lol...
when i look back at climate records summer didnt look much nicer in the 90's 80's or 70's so i dont know what are you talking about.

Seems like UK cities avg high summer temps are bumped by 1-2 hot summers per decade and then 8 crappy ones

What climate records? I am looking at climate records for Leeds and I see a plethora of months with average highs of 22C and above with most years reaching 30C.. why does it need to be 30C for it to be a proper summer, anyway? Surely 25 - 27C is just as good?

Have a look at this month - what do you think? http://www.tutiempo.net/en/Climate/L...1995/33470.htm

i remember plenty of 12-13c weather in July/ August and same temperature in january, february but colder nights obviously

Not by most non-oceanic climate standards (Chicago 1981-2010 norm)

Aug: 2003: 26.4C (28.1C)
July: 2006: 28.3C (29.3C)

If you think about it, the best London/UK can do during the summer, would be considered below average almost everywhere else outside Western Europe south of 50N

Maybe sometimes, until you are hunkered down worrying about your butt being taken out by a tornado! LOL! Well, I did not live near the gulf so no worries about hurricanes. Storms were sometimes cool, I like a gray, cloudy, dramatic sky.

George - I will tell you again nicely, that I am not even remotely interested. It was a very hot month by our standards, and that is what we are discussing right now - the UK, not Chicago.

temps always struggle to reach 25c in England and 30c is very rare and if it happens its usually London because of urban heat island
Again you are comparing the UK's climate to what you are used to in Poland

Temperatures do not struggle to reach 25C! Last year, which was generally considered rubbish even by UK standards, I still recorded 21 days above 25.0C & 2 days above 30.0C...

30C is reached every year in the south east.

Have a look at this month - what do you think? Climate in LEEDS WEATHER CTR in July 1995 - Historical weather records
22c high is good for you? well in that case yeah perhaps summers are nice for you, but that would be a very bad summer month in Poland or average for the coldest cities in the country.

25-27 is not a typical temp here either, if most july- august days were 25c then great. but its usually 18-21 which is bad, really bad.

That month in 1995 looks OK, but nothing amazing either

Yes it does. I just said the number of t-storm days in the post before.

If these weren't recorded on your map, it's weird.
