I live around 25-30 m above sea level. I remember ricardobrazil lives in Sao Paulo, so he's probably around 700-800 m above sea level.

Got to admit for this contest anyway, I do have a slight advantage as I live about 10 miles east of the continental divide, and I am a LOOOOOOONG way from the ocean

Much of my state is pretty high elevation wise, including part of the Yellowstone Plateau. We aren't as high as some places, our highest peak is only 12,000 feet, (3904 meters according to wiki Granite Peak (Montana - Ask.com Encyclopedia)

Our climate is pretty rough for most folks to live in, lots of snow and ice, Blizzards, long winters, spring floods, high winds, very cold temperatures.

Usually living near a coast is much more to what people like. nearly 2/3rds of Americans live within 150 miles of a coast, so don't be surprised it took a while to find somebody from the High Lonesome, there aren't nearly as many of us

About a 15 minute walk. Portsmouth is completely flat & most of it is only around 7m asl, between me & the beach is an area below sea level that flooded badly a few years ago...
