Good evening Winter thread posters. I guess it's time to dust off the keyboard again since Oct is here now. Had a few nights down in the 20's so far and quite a few in the 30's. Guess I'll just have to wait and see if this Winter turns out to be as plentiful as last season.

How is it possible that every state looks to be far below normal.....except Florida? wouldn't the cold snaps that affect GA and AL affect me here in the Panhandle too? It seems forecasters have no problems forecasting cool weather for AL and GA but when it comes to FL they always hesitate

Looks very average in the Floridian panhandle on that map, so it could go either way?

They could be wrong too - everywhere might end up broiling.

Looks like slightly above normal in peninsular Florida and right around average for me, I just don't see how areas 50-100 miles north/west of me are getting below normal temperatures while here it's normal, when that's the direction our cold snaps come from anyway
