I was dreaming yesterday night what a beautiful place it would be for a honeymoon later on in life (used for imagination). 14 F here with the snow transforming into dark dirty slush .

Atlantic City NJ Airport with 7.3". They should be over 15" on the year now. Double the norm to date.

Have you guys been following the Capes of MA this year?? I mean there's been impressive weather all over the place but It's impressive how I keep seeing the MA coast continue getting snow either from Ocean Effects or Waves of low pressure.

-----------------------------

Matt Noyes

"We've hit a measured 6" of snow in Mashpee, MA, per Peter Cohen (Twitter user @flargh), who says it's the fluffiest powder he's seen on the Cape in years. This arctic air has ensured the Cape sees a very rare (by Cape standards), light and airy snow."

Here's a current look at Temps, Satellite, Surface Pressure, and Radar.

Chicago likely to finish in the top five coldest winters on record based on February's model runs.... Right now at #9

Notice some of the warmest winters were from the late 1800's. That's a bit skewed as the official readings were taken right on the lakeshore then as opposed to O'Hare and Midway which 9-12 miles further inland

Our snow depth is now down to 3", and you can see grass and spotty snow cover in some locations.

Six days ago we had 13" on the ground, plus and additional 2" last Saturday, and yet sublimation with our dry cold sunny days has virtually destroyed the snow cover. After the warm temps this weekend it should be gone.

And now February and the sun feels noticeably stronger and higher. Feb avg high is almost 5F warmer than January, so winter is winding down. I am very happy about that.

Agreed, and once we hit late Feb our average highs will begin to increase by about 5 degrees every two weeks (until June).

I have my schedule:

45F - 2/27
50F - 3/16
55F - 3/30
60F - 4/12
65F - 4/26
70F - 5/11
75F - 5/27
80F - 6/12
85F - 7/06

That sounds perfect, I'd do anything to have that right now.

And I wish my graduation was that close lol.

Those in the East expecting a warm pattern, early Spring, or a snowless February might be disappointed.

The key is whats happening in the Pacific and with this loop... Will have more to say by the weekend.

Wow Wow! This is amazing to see and keep seeing in so many places.

Seeing this is so interesting to me.

"At ACY last night, we saw 7.3" of snow. But ONLY 0.20" of moisture in the snow. That's a 35:1 snow ratio!! Very impressive for South Jersey!"

I just used the broom to clear my walkway again in direct sunlight too. My broom has more use than the shovel this year between deck and walkways. I don't remember seeing so many powder type dry snowfalls. I'm loving this Pure arctic air with moisture around.
