If GFS verified, the mean max here to the 28th would be 25.2C, within a degree of July 2006 (hottest on record).

July 2013 will be above average here, thanks to the brutal forecast for next 10 days.

Avg high down to 21.8C (-0.5C) until yesterday. Even if we get all those 27C days, it will be hard to reach an avg hi of 23C this July.

This cool spell will probably bring Chicago's average max down to slightly below average by the end of the month. I will predict that Midway airport will end up with an average high of 28.8C (29.3C is normal) and O'Hare 28.5C (28.9C is normal).

Melbourne's July high will be above average. If the forecast highs come to fruition, the average high should end up at 16.3C . And that's including the coldest day in 7 years (9.7c), following the warmest day on record (23.3c) by no more than 48 hours!

No below average days are forecast. The MTD had only 5 days below average.

Sunshine definitely will come in well above average.

Still looking like above 25C / 77F is a possibility. Currently 24.9C / 76.8F. No below-average days forecast. Most days look to be around 25C.

Strangely enough though, sunshine could be below-average, if we don't get many sunny days between now and the 31st.
