That's during the early morning! Before midnight it can be 25 °C (77 °F) or higher.

I actually wouldn't mind it year round, as long as the nights were not too hot & you would get used to it after a while anyway. Here we get lots of "Tropical nights" looking back at last year & I recorded 160 of them, starting in May & even had a couple in November. In the middle of summer here the nights can be too hot though, last year 66 of those "Tropical nights" had lows above 25C with the highest minimum being 29C...

Ideally every night's minimum should be between 65F/18C to 75F/24C. That's a perfect combination of sleeping weather and being able to be outside comfortably. Anything less is too cold, anything higher will make me consider ACing.

Let's see my dream climate:

November - March: only about 30-40% of winters would have a tropical night during this period
April: 1 (avg low 52.0 F / 11.1 C)
May: 6 (avg low 62.2 F / 16.8 C)
June: 18 (avg low 69.6 F / 20.9 C)
July: 24 (avg low 72.9 F / 22.7 C)
August: 21 (avg low 70.7 F / 21.5 C)
September: 6 (avg low 61.7 F / 16.5 C)
October: 1 (avg low 50.9 F / 10.5 C)

Total: 77

I dont know how a low above 20°C would be a tropical night if the high was above 40°C. To me, it would be more like a desert night than a tropical night with an dewpoint being extremely low.

I don't care so much about nighttime temps so long as it's no hotter than my summertime room temperature (25C).

From Toronto averages I can translate 20C night to 30C daytime highs, so I'll answer the question from that perspective.

I'd prefer no more than 5 (5 would be ideal), I like having my summers on the relatively cooler side (daytime high of ~25C but with a small number of spikes of 30+C.
