To be honest I wouldn't be complaining so much if it wasn't that it has been so dry. Hot and steamy I enjoy so longer as around 3pm a Thunderstorm rolls in. but that hasn't been happening I've only seen passing sprinkles except for that one big storm last wednesday.
...I would not look for any below normal temps at least until early November. Newest ECMWF is out, and it looks like temps will stay above normal in Northern Canada - this should keep any cool air out of the USA. So temps here should be at least normal for the rest of the month across much of the USA except for the higher elevations of the Rockies:

I love October beach weather, I'm heading to VA Beach next weekend, I hope the warmth and sunny skies holds!

Normal high is 88°F
Normal low is 75°F

Sounds insane to say. Gees.
like I said the temps are fine as long as I get those beautiful summer storms but right now there is just way too much dry air getting thrown in here for that to happen.

Coldest Air to remain over Asia for much of October
October 08, 2013; 12:51 AM
All indications are that the core of the coldest air in the northern Hemisphere will remain on the other side of the pole in northern Asia through much of the remainder of this month, but there are some hints that things will shift around as we get into November.
No real sustained cold weather expected across Canada the next few weeks, though there will be some spells of chilly weather across western Canada from time to time, while mild conditions will be more common in the East.
This type of pattern may favor more storminess across the U.S. Rockies with a potential for more early season snow in the high country over the next 15-20 days.
Below is the Monday update of the ECMWF long range model. By the way, the ECMWF seasonal outlook gets updated Tuesday. This should provide some additional clues about the upcoming winter.
FYI, we will be releasing the AccuWeather Canada winter outlook next week.

8am actual sounding from Albany, NY. DRY from surface to 50,000! Maybe some whispy clouds at 5000' but above that is just bone dry.

Coastal storm (ghost of Karen) update:

Euro trends north with the precip. It says it starts raining in NJ & NYC area Thursday & doesn't stop until Tuesday.

Departures are negative so we Need it. I don't believe the northward trend yet.

2-4" of rain for the coasts.
