According to the McAllen News 8....the beaches were packed today on Padre Island:

"Residents are trying to be the heat in the warm Gulf of Mexico today as highs climbed into the 90's". We expect that with the coming heat this week, beaches will stay packed as people seek relief from the tropical heat" .

True...the hot weather will really get going across the Gulf and south Atlantic states in the coming days.

Here are todays expected highs. I think most of the USA mainland sees warm temps....only the PNW and Maine/New Hampshire/VT should see temps in the 50's. Much the rest of the USA 70 to 90 F's. :

Warm to hot in Spain atm. 34°C/93°F in Bilbao, Basque country yesterday. 33°C/91°F in La Coruna, with dews in the 17-20°C (63-68°F) range. Up to 36°C/97°F in Badajoz, Extremadura, but drier.

Biarritz was the French hotspot with 31°C/88°F.
