Well, Fall arrived in the northern hemisphere last night. I am so glad! We also saw the beautiful harvest moon last night. The harvest moon doesn't always coincide with the first day of autumn, but this year it did.

I know some are saying they are experiencing still pretty warm temps, and of course, we are in Texas. That's to be expected here, but it's getting better. We're at least approaching the 80's for highs instead of high 90's and triple digits. We had a beastly hot August this year.

If you're a Fall afficionado like me, what do you like best about it?

I could tell you what I like but I wrote a short blog about Fall a couple years ago and a very short "addendum" to it this year. So I think I'll just post a couple of links!

The air gets less humid and I more often get to see deep blue. And it's nice that outdoor activities become non-sweaty. But most of all, changing leaves are beautiful.

But the leaves drop fast, and then it gets too cold.I'd like fall more if it didn't mean winter is just around the corner. Getting frosts in a couple of weeks isn't fun. But, enjoy while you can!

I'm looking forward to a good leaf season!!!

Sounds like you live a good deal further north than Texas! I don't think we even see peak fall foliage until almost Thanksgiving!

Our first day of Fall has been cloudy with dribbling rain, exactly the kind of weather SAB (Boobs?) finds so annoying.

But the forcast is for clearing and temperatures to climb into the eighties. Now that summer is over, we're finally getting summer.

I live in Western Massachusetts. Fall probably means two very different things to us. Our peak foliage is in the middle of October to the third week.

Sometimes I like rain/cloudiness unless it rains for say, more than 7-10 days straight.

LOL, I suspect it does. I kinda feel the same way about Spring. It's great but it doesn't last long here before we get into the beastly hot days of summer. But hey, you DO have the great Fall foliage in New England!

Fall here means the rains are back and I heard this year, it's going to be a real WET fall with La Nina pushing the storm track directly at us. I don't expect to see any blue dome days until some time next year. For me, I'm disappointed that summer is over

Summer decided to extend it's stay for a couple more days with temperatures well into the 70s and 80s through tomorrow. But the last few weeks have been fall-like. Pretty good mix of colors so far. I look forward to taking more hikes through the woods and drinking apple cider.

I'm jealous, although I will admit that even though I prefer cloudy weather, the clear days of autumn are breathtaking.

LOL, highs in the 70's and 80's are our AUTUMN temps in Texas! We won't even talk about summer temps! When we start getting down to 90ºF, we consider it "refreshing!" That's pretty pathetic, isn't it!

That is pathetic, but I would probably find it refreshing after dealing with 95-105 F all summer too. Someone would have to pay me a lot of money to move down there.

Low 70s are fine during autumn. Our average high in late September and early October is between 67-72 ish. While today was nice, I find upper 70s too mild to be considered very autumn like.
