An Antarctic base. I can go to a tropical island whenever I want (kind of), but going to an Antarctic base isn't as easy. I'd pick Somewhere like Esparanza Base.
I'd pick the tropical island just cuz there would be a lot more to do and I would go to the Queensland Islands so that I could a) go to the tropical country that's good and far from home and kinda exotic b) go to the Southern hemisphere and c) of course see the Great Barrier Reef. I'd be happy going any time of the year but may choose December or January so I could see their summer in the Southern Hemisphere tropics.
I'd get bored on a base in Antarctica for two weeks just looking at ice. However in a similar poll, I choose Barrow over Honolulu ( //www.city-data.com/forum/weath...expense-6.html) cuz Barrow is more exotic to me since i've been to Hawaii b4. It's not all a bout weather- it's about exotic and far from home for me but I want to see if the other forumers choose weather is the primary criteria when choosing or other factors.
It's a dream of mine to visit Antarctica. Hate the climate, but would love to see the place. The Seychelles can wait.
Base Esperanza.

There's so much more than just ice. The nature is unique and stunning, so is the wildlife. Penguins and other birds, seals, whales. Things that you can't see anywhere else in the world. Even the weather is something you haven't experienced before.
Vostok in winter. Yes, I'd want to experience it, even though I come from a -40 climate. I want to see a place where carbon dioxide freezes out of the air.

All those Antarctic bases along the coast have mild winters (relatively speaking). It's rare to get anything below -30 C. It would be easier to visit Siberia or Canada if you just want to experience -30.
