I had work to do in the area to the east of here, a few days ago. It's much drier than this region, but is looking pleasantly green for now. Another month or so and it will be looking quite different.

You live on an island that's not "typical" looking, either

What does a typical island look like... seaweed draped everywhere?

Here's a "typical" local island scene for you, from the middle of winter.

No New Zealand looks a bit like North Dakota to me.

It does have a good variety of landscapes. Someone from the States recently told me (a few times), that the spot we were eating our lunch at, looked like Colorado in one direction and Hawaii in the other.

Define "Typical Island" Owen. Would you say that Sunland is a "typical" Island?

Looks like a few storms rolled through just before I left work. 115km/h gusts recorded in Melbourne with thunder and hail. Just missed out damn.

Very nice today despite extensive high cloud. High of 24 C, but a southerly change just came through and it's already down to 16 C at 5:45 PM.

Next three days looking good, with 20+ C highs and sunshine.
