Will the Sydney area see some significant rainfall toward November and early December?

Will Melbourne fail to reach 38C in November?

Current BoM forecasts say Melbourne will be wetter and slightly cooler than normal and Sydney slightly wetter than normal.

Any other forecasts out there yet?

Certainly a summer-like pattern setting up over Australia for the first week of spring with a large high over the Tasman and a deep low to the south with resulting strong northerly flow over southern parts.

Forgive me if the image doesn't work:

In Australia, the first day of spring is 1 September, just 3 days away. So yeah, winter's basically over down there, as if they had one in the first place...lol.

oh right. I thought that it was like in the Northern hemisphere were they followed the equinox? But I guess not.

I suppose it's probably like Alaska having winter in May.

Current Melbourne Forecast:

Fri ......... 13 / 20 ..... few showers
Sat ........ 12 / 23 ..... mostly sunny
Sun ....... 15 / 25 ..... partly cloudy
Mon ....... 12 / 23 ..... partly cloudy
Tue ....... 11 / 25 ..... partly cloudy
Wed ...... 16 / 26 ..... partly cloudy
Thu ....... 16 / 20 ..... few showers

I should also mention that today reached 23.1C and Wednesday had a high of 22.5C. Tuesday also recorded 20.6C.

No complaints about that! If this was North America, it would still be officially winter until Sept 21

Just some nice late winter cold in the deserts in northern South Australia http://www.bom.gov.au/sa/forecasts/moomba.shtml

Ha, rubbish. Coltingbury reached 31°C in February. Oh hang on, that's not a real climate.
