Dropping fast, 19.3C/9.9C today included. 13.9mm of rain the whole month.

Some maples and birches show signs of foliage and bright colours, but most of the trees are still green.

Above average for sure. Only one day in the 7-day forecast is forecast to be under 20C and the MTD average high so far is 19.7C. The 1981-2010 average is 17.7C

The low will end up well above average aswell, MTD is 11.4C vs the 1981-2010 average of 9.2C, and the forecast is mostly above 10C with a few 13-16C lows forecast.

Sunshine however is well below average. MTD currently is 5.3 hours/day compared to the average of 6.2 hours/day. Average 9am and 3pm cloud cover MTD stands at 5/8 and 6/8 respectively, so a very cloudy month.

It will definitely go below 14°C I should think and is dead set on being the 7th below average month this year (while other pricks get nothing but above average months all the time). Appalling. Despite what the forecast says every day is simply below average.

As of the 23rd

Midway:25.7C
O'Hare:25.4C
Northerly Island lakefront):24.2C
My south suburb:27.2C

Notice how the cooler lake waters now late in September are playing a big role in cooling closer lake side stations.

Average is 29C/84F. Estimating about 28-29C/83-84F.

So above average by just a little.

I predicted average, but it looks like the month will come in 1.5 F below average. Monthly 1981-2010 averages are different from the daily/monthly averages though.
