I used weatheronline's climate robot to calculate the averages for this place between 1982 and 2011. Precipitation data seems to have many years missing so I didn't include it. Summers are quite cool - cooler than you would expect, but it's at an elevation of 376m.
^^ plus the fact that the scandes arent very prominent westwards of the city, which allows for more atlantic air to penetrate further inland, and hence give it more maritme features than places further south and further north of this "gap". its actually defined as a local-maritime climate by the smhi.
yeah, Östersund is a pretty special place regarding climate (actually a quite bad one compared to other swedish climates^^). Its maritime influenced location makes summers cooler than at places much further north (even Karesuando has a similar July avg. high), while it actually doesn't include more rain-/snowfall, as one might suggest, but in fact it's drier than most other swedish climates... For me, it's a B, winters are just too dry and even drier than almost all places in Lapland.
Average high in July of 65? Sorry, that's an automatic F from me!
