I think it exaggerated the mountains.

Yes. Most in England probably average over 40 too away from the south coast, but only a few average over 60. About four average over 70 (Shap, Redesdae Camp, Spadeadam, Santon Downham).

What part of NY? Typical NYC frost is beginning of November like the map shows, NYC freeze is end of November. Suburb of NYC which borders closely is October. NYC is a Pure heat Island

32f is a freeze. Frost happens in mid 30s with 36 being the starting point. Although it can happen at 37 & 38 too but 36 is the focus point.

Cool map, thanks!
I literally never get a frost above 1c.

The first frost of last fall at Paris-Orly airport happened at 39.4°F. Sounds high to you? Wind speed was 1 mph and the sky was clear.

I don't count ground frosts because we get them in summer sometimes.

Has anyone on here in a maritime climate ever gone an entire winter month without a frost? Church Fenton never has - but Leeds Weather Centre didn't fall below freezing at all in Jan/Feb 1990. It fell below freezing in November, December, March and April though (89/90).

Probably October though several recent years have not had one until mid-November and in 2011 the first wasn't until December.

Probably New Zealand and it goes to show. You'd think that month would be warm but like one day it was 5c and it only dropped to 0.5c. So just goes to show .

Up there really? We hardly ever have to wait to November.
