When do you think your first frost of the season will be? (icy, temperatures)

That's interesting because you seem to have more diurnal range than must of the NE. Not really an oceanic trait.

That's the night that I'm referring to. It was 32 F/0 C before midnight...dropped down to 26 F/-3 C the following morning.

I'm not referring to here but Long Island, where I grew up, which has less variation tha most of the Northeast.

It isn't like that here, it's just random. That is why it's a shock.

That same 22°F morning here it was 34°F in the morning at my parent's house.

It can be warm the night before the first frost here. My point is that the 1-3 C nights up to a month earlier (sometimes even 2 months earlier), won't make the 0C such a shock.
