My hometown (Long Island) is after Nov 10! Similar to many oceanic climates! I always like to think we had a bit of oceanic-ness to our climate, about as good as you can get anywhere in the northern US.
That's interesting because you seem to have more diurnal range than must of the NE. Not really an oceanic trait.
I know what you mean though. I feel my climate has a bit more "Continental-ness" than most Oceanic climates on here.
It isn't like that here, it's just random. That is why it's a shock.
It can be warm the night before the first frost here. My point is that the 1-3 C nights up to a month earlier (sometimes even 2 months earlier), won't make the 0C such a shock.
