Eureka, California- cool and foggy Maritime climate with little seasonal variation, rare to have sunny, "warm" day in summer with July's all time record high only being 76 F...no snow in winter either. You can't have swim parties outdoors in summer nor can you have snow play in winter but it's fairly comfortable "sweater" weather year round although you may need a windbreaker on foggy, rainy, or windy days. (just as likely to need the windbreaker in July as in January). The weather is never "uncomfortable" if wearing simple layers, let alone dangerous- Eureka, California - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Oymyakon, Russia- known as the "cold pole" of the Northern Hemisphere due to its extremely brutal winters with regular lows of -60 F for weeks at a time in January with nice, sunny, comfortable summers that are warmer than Eureka's on the average. Oymyakon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I vote for Eureka hands down but I want to what extend the "season lovers" and/or "snow-lovers" would go to for your 4 seasons and/or snow in winter and/or sunny, warm summer days.
Eureka is pretty much the worst climate ever. I HATE highs in the 55-65F range when it's sunny, though when cloudy and rainy they can be pleasant. For this reason, I will go with Eureka over the harshness of Oymyakon.
That video clip was pretty cool. It felt like it was from 1993 or something, which gave it a retro feel on top of its informative qualities.
Eureka is surprisingly sunny for such a cool maritime climate. It's actually sunnier than here !
As much as I would love to go Oymyakon to experience the madness of living there, Eureka seems like a city where you can have outdoor activities all year long. And isn't that an hippie paradise ?
I like the way ice is sold in frozen blocks in Oymakon, lol.
