Yeah at least the lake helps us with pushing snow tallies up, but I would rather have the truly continental temperatures found in the Plains. Chicago is "diet continental"
Montana is extreme too....

And who says Oregon is a boring oceanic climate.... Not on the west side of the mountains anyways....

For Canada... as far as I can tell, Osoyoos and Lytton are the top stations, 34.2 days for Osoyoos and 33.2 days for Lytton over 30C during 1971-2000. Not bad for places close to 50N (over 50N in the case of Lytton).
Doesn't London only average about 4-6 days at or above 30C? I once calculated it using tutiempo going back to the 1970's. I don't remember the exact figure.
I think it's 4.4 or 4.6 days on average for the 1973-present.
Here are some other years with good summers, and the number of days above 30C.
1976: 21 (including 16 days in a row above 31C).
1983: 9
1989: 8 (but the record number of 25+ days with 59)
1990: 9
1995: 16
It has some interesting information, for example that July in Zagreb in the 1970s had, on average, 3 days above 30c, 5 such days in the 1980s, 7 such days in the 1990s, 11 such days in the 2000s and 14 such days in the 2010s so far.
Also, there were no days above 36c from 1953 to 1991, then they started appearing about once a year, and 2011 had 4 such days, 2012 had 6 such days and 2013 had 4 such days.

Nope. Spences Bridge = 40.9 days per year. I don't know what the record is, but Spences Bridge did have 71 days of 30+ in 1998.

Cool! I didn't know about Spences Bridge. I wonder if there are other places in the world at 50N that get more 30C days than Spences Bridge. An average of more than 40 days a year over 30C at 50N is quite impressive IMO
In terms of humidity, Windsor has the most 'realfeel days' at or above 30°c in the country (67.40 on average).

I think Osoyoos holds the national record taking WMO standards into account though. It looks like the Spences Bridge station had a short operation.
