I think I'll go with Eureka for the warmer summers.

Eureka - more temperature "variation" (I use that term lightly) and higher rainfall.

La Paz for being drier overall. Odd how the highest record highs come right before winter. I don't trust the data source though (weatherbase).

Eureka. Better temperatures, heavier rainfall and far more bearable UV levels due to far higher latitude and far lower elevation.

They got palm trees out there:

Actually, from the nearby town of Arcata. Interestingly, Eureka has almost the same latitude and annual temperature as Long Island. Weather patterns couldn't be more different.

Since both don't get too hot, I'll go with Eureka for slightly warmer temperatures.

I'll take Eureka for having a summer (albeit a cool one), having the dry season in the summer, and for it's lower altitude (goose egg vs. 11,000' !). I visited Pikes Peak and got dizzy in an hour. I think I would drop dead if I tried to live in La Paz.

Any other takers for La Paz?

I like the wide open spaces of Bolivia more than the forests surrounding Eureka, although Eureka does have the ocean close by so that is a plus.

I'll pick La Paz. It's cooler and drier, and if I'm not mistaken has a greater chance for snowfall.
