It is all about what u describe a word and It changes person to person. For you Duluth's average low in january can be frigid but for me it is very very very extremely cold.

What I mean that extreme low temperatures are expected by forecasters.we can break long term average low temperature record. Thats why I said frigid.

I'm guessing a fairly mild early 2014 (ugh - I'd rather have cold) but a very cold November - December 2013.

I hope you're right. If we get a cold and snowy December, I would be ok with the rest of winter being mild. Plus, I want to see snow as soon as possible lol.

This quote from the movie "Groundhog Day" sums up what I think the winter will be like, LOL!!

"You want a prediction about the weather, you're asking the wrong Phil. I'll give you a winter prediction: It's gonna be cold, it's gonna be grey, and it's gonna last you for the rest of your life".

Towns situated within the Adirondacks have already dropped below freezing a couple times this year. It will not be very long till it starts snowing up there.

Is that a temperature forecast? Fascinating.
My *opinion* is that the Northeastern seaboard will get a break this year from the past 3 years of getting their a$$es handed to them.
The Great Lakes region will have a warmer and wetter winter this year than last.
It appears Colorado is out of their drought for the time being, but I wish them a healthy snowfall.
I can only pray that Texas gets an abundance of rain this winter because God (and everyone else) knows we desperately need it.
With all that out there, I can only guess that the northwest might get pounded by snow and the southeast will enjoy a mild winter.

Now, let's all sit back and watch.
