I grew up in California's Mediterranean climate with strictly defined dry and wet seasons, so that's what I like for the most part. I love the cool, rainy winters and dry summers, but I hate the heat of inland CA during summer. Fortunately I'm moving to the north coast of CA this weekend and all signs are pointing to a cooler and wetter winter than normal this year, so I say bring it on.

The rainy season typically starts in late October and continues until late May, and during that rainy season the area where I'll be living gets about 40", which works out to about 100 days (the bulk of the rain usually falls between December and February so those months are generally cloudier/wetter than the others). I would like to see a handful of rainy days during the summer, preferably thunderstorms, but I take what I can get.

Maybe 40 - but with a good inch or more of rain - not the days where it is cloudy, dark, and just drizzles all day. Have a good storm and then clear off with a drop in the humidity is fine.
