Well 13 years of data at the WC isn't really long enough to get a good average, but if we look at the same time period between WC and Heathrow, the minimums are still a little warmer at WC (UHI I take it) but the max temps are not all that different.
We have big differences especially the minimum temps
Northerly Island on the lakeshore
UofC Southeast side of Chicago 1 mile away from the lake yet deep in the UHI
National Weather Service office Chicago headquarters 20 miles from MDW
Norhwest suburban Streamwood 15 miles from ORD

Yeah 13 years isn't enough really, but it still shows the UHI pretty well, as the max temps are not all that different apart from April, it is mostly the minima that are much warmer.
Chicago I imagine is also due to lake Michigan, it's strange as Gravesend is quite close to the Thames Estuary here but it records the highest max temperatures

That's what I noticed

It certainly is the main reason that Northerly Island has a minimum of nearly 21C in July, yet Streamwood 25 miles away has a minimum of just under 15C. Streamwood is also in a bit of a depression in the Fox Valley which probably sees the lowest minimum temps and highest maximum temps across the metro area.

Lake Michigan cools the city's max temps (especially in the spring) with Northeasterly winds. They can easily blow 30 mph full fetch.... Rivers don't have that sort of impact.
Coldest Halloween in 18 years on the way, and Lake Michigan's influence is partly to blame

we get a weird variety not even any mountains or large topography around eastern mass
boston area, and south south west.. just 10 -15 miles from coast, some areas see 10-20 degrees difference than boston airport
or surrounding metro areas within 5 miles, and variences in there but not so much.. even the outer towns and burbs can frequently dip to freezing a month or more before boston does..
micro climates and temperature and snow fall is so interesting, in a given space of course driving around in it takes a while with all the twisty little paths..
