I Would like to know which city is most similar to Indianapolis' weather during the winter months. Also I would like to know how these cities differ from the weather in Indianapolis during the winter months. I would also like some detail. Indianapolis gets on average a handful of sub-zero days per winter season and most winters usually see at least a few significant winter weather events, snow/freezing rain/wintry mix etc. But what I would really like to figure out is which of the above cities in this question/poll thread does Indy really feel like weather wise as compared to the above cities. This includes average snowfall, Temperature and percentage of possible sun.

Minneapolis is significantly colder. Temperatures in Indianapolis are in between Chicago and Kansas City, Chicago is a few degrees colder and KC a few warmer. Same with snowfall, Indianapolis averages 26", Chicago 38, KC 20. Indianapolis gets the most precipitation and precipitation days, and is the cloudiest, but not too far from Chicago. Both cities have about the same number of hours, but Chicago is further north. Kansas city has far fewer days of precipitation and more sunshine.

I've never lived in these cities so I can't give a resident's perspective, all this is just from the Wikipedia pages. From the stats I'd say it's closest to Chicago, just a few degrees warmer. Kansas city has a bit warmer temperatures but is drier. Minneapolis is far colder than Indianapolis and the least similar.
