. Interesting to read about the Bora though, I had actually never heard of it - it sounds worse than the Atlantic storms we get.

What idiot foreman didn't stop work for the day in weather like that?! That should never have been allowed to happen.

The UK can't even excel in being windy despite being on the edge of the Atlantic. Our climate really is sh*t as far as extremes go.

Luckily our 'longest-lasting rainbow' in Wetherby is still in the record books though, and I reckon the 0 sun hours in London in December 1890 won't be broken any time soon

I'm sorry but that is so untrue. In England maybe but not here.

What was your highest gust recorded today?

Yes, it's pretty bad (gusts are often above 200 km/h, and the record is 304 km/h), so it destroys a lot, but it makes up for some very interesting situations.

I agree, that was pretty stupid.

Getting back on topic, it's currently 7c with wind and rain at 21:22. The monthly total for November has got over 120 mm today.

It ranges from 80 km/h in southern neighbourhoods to 126 km/h in the northern areas. It's still blowing very strong, I've never experienced such a powerful and long-lasting bora windstorm!
Trieste is known as the italian capital of bora, its all time record is around 180 km/h. Here we are on the other side of the Adriatic, about 200 km from the croatian coast (and 140 km from Pola)! It's really impressive.
