Strong winds blew off workers on a building in Rijeka, making them fall eight floors and killing them. There are countless destroyed cars, broken trees, closed roads and similar in whole Croatia.

The UK can't even excel in being windy despite being on the edge of the Atlantic. Our climate really is sh*t as far as extremes go.

Yes, it's pretty bad (gusts are often above 200 km/h, and the record is 304 km/h), so it destroys a lot, but it makes up for some very interesting situations.
It ranges from 80 km/h in southern neighbourhoods to 126 km/h in the northern areas. It's still blowing very strong, I've never experienced such a powerful and long-lasting bora windstorm!
Trieste is known as the italian capital of bora, its all time record is around 180 km/h. Here we are on the other side of the Adriatic, about 200 km from the croatian coast (and 140 km from Pola)! It's really impressive.
