Wednesday night along the coast...
The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a blizzard
watch... which is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through late
Wednesday night.
An area of low pressure will approach southwestern Alaska
overnight... spreading snow ahead of it. Strong north winds of 30
to 45 mph accompanying this system could produce blizzard
conditions along the coast during the day Wednesday and into
Wednesday night. Visibility possibly reduced to less than one
quarter mile at times in falling and blowing snow.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A blizzard watch means there is a potential for falling and/or
blowing snow with strong winds and extremely poor visibilities.
This can lead to white-out conditions and make travel very
dangerous.
