I knew it was cold because despite the heater being on I had to go put on socks and that rarely happens.

Then I heard on the news update that it's 8c!!!! (46F)

8c in Melbourne, Australia today and I was already freaking out because the projected temp was supposed to be 14c.

You guys have me wondering now~it IS summertime in Europe, isn't it? I realize it's wintertime in Aus., but your temps sound so chilly for summer.

Temp is 64 heading for 85.

Humidity is 83%.

Dewpoint is 59%.

It's because of the Jetstream being pushed south over NW Europe by "Northern blocking" or excessive high pressure over Greenland/Iceland and Scandinavia. Temperatures are far below normal. Average highs at this time of year would be 70-75*.
