We hit 84 degrees yesterday so we were fairly close to our avg. of 87.

It says that it's 79 here and it "feels like" 81. HMMMM, it sure feels cooler then that. We've been having rain off and on and the rain is just chilly. We're only supposed to get a degree or two higher today. This is weird, but I've had goose bumps all day.

Sounds like your attitude about summer might be like mine,
where usually the only thing I really don't like in summer is if and when it turns chilly.

Has Mitchell, SD seen a lot of rain this summer too?

Huh? I just looked at Old Fort and it's 85 temp, 53% humidity and 66 dew point. This morning when you posted after 11:00, it was not the temperature you quoted above unless your source is incorrect or my source, wunderground, is incorrect.

yea that's what I was thinking, according to one of the weather stations it was 100.6F at 12:20 and only 52 min later at 1:12 it was 89.4F, I think the thermometer is malfunctioning Plus all the surrounding weather stations have had a high temp of only 85-88F so far

It was a hot one for sure today. I thought the a/c was broken, but dh said nope, it's just THAT hot outside. The heat index was really up there and it was really muggy as well.

here's what our local weather man is saying for our extended forecast.

97!!! That was our high temp at the Tupelo Regional Airport today as well as here at WTVA. I see no reason that Sunday and Monday wont be just as hot. An isolated t-storm or two developed today but over 90% of our area remained dry and will continue to at least until Tuesday. By that time, deeper tropical moisture will be moving in from the south offering us increasing rain chances Tuesday through Friday of the new workweek. We are watching several things in the tropics right now. Right now we believe if we are influenced in any way by any tropical system, it would be over five days away. We will continue to monitor the situation for you as always. Also remember to stay safe as you head out in this heat each afternoon. Drink plenty of water and don't stay outside for longer than you must.

Yes, we've had just a nice amount of rain this summer. It's been keeping everything green and lush.

I think there was a bit of a malfunction with weather.com today. When I posted, it said that was 79 degrees. It just seemed odd so I checked the weather channel and it was 71. I thought I was getting sick or something because with a heat index at 81, I shouldn't have been cold.

We ended up having a high of 82 degrees Sat. Right now it's 70, but feels nice and warm. Our humidity is 89% and our dewpoint is 66% so it's keeping it comfy.

currently foggy and 58 in central Minnesota

They are forecasting sunny with highs in the low 80's today and tommorrow.

After getting worried (farmer) about going a month with no rain, we got ( in the last 12 days )---1 inch, ---.25, ---.40,--- and yesterday a slow "all day rain" that gave us another 1 inch.

Sure is nice to get rain in July as we didn't last year.
