No, I don't think so. If it develops as they say, it will be short-lived and even with the lower temperatures, the humidity can't be good.

In central Texas now:

86 degrees, feels like 89 (It should reach about 99 today).

55% humidity

68 dew point

EVERY place has crummy weather. How can you beat the 70 degree days and 60 degree nights here???

Today is 80 degrees, 30% chance of rain this afternoon, clearing up late afternoon.

It's starting to wind down for us. Instead of an average high of 87, it dropped to 86 and that's been days ago. I saw that your area has finally gone below that 100 plus mark that you were plagued with for several days. I love hot weather, but over 100 isn't really that comfy.

We hit 87 degrees yesterday~Avg is 86 so we were right on target. We don't have the heat indexes that we had in the past~our "feels like" temp would've been about 95 a couple of weeks ago, but not it's right around the actual temp. I believe it got down to 60 degrees this morning.

I almost feel guilty posting my temps right now cause it's very nice here. Just know that I would gladly share with the rest of you who are still going through the heat of summer. It's 77 right now and our predicted high for the day is 80 on weather.com and 82 on our local channels.

Don't take it personally, it's just a reputation Chicago is known for. I don't think theres such a thing as a sunny day right on the lake shore. If it was sunny the clouds rolled in at some point in the afternoon.

But some places have crummy weather a lot more often than others. And some places are a lot more crummier than others places bad weather.

A bad weather day in San Diego is overcast and 60 degrees. Rain is usually welcomed here.

Well, Im just letting you know that the reputation is hugely overexaggerated. We do get extremes during all seasons, but they never stick around long. I think Chicago's weather is extremely interesting. One hour it can be pure hell... howling winds and rain, high humidity and high temps. And then literally 20 minutes later be sunny, calm as a sleeping baby, low humidity and cool temps. It seems to me that Chicagoland's extreme temps are the normal temps in most areas of the country (regarding the current season), and our weather is punctuated by incredibly nice spells. Nothing here sticks around long, so were treated to an incredible variety of climates in a single year. In winter we can get Arctic-like weather for a few days, then milder temps, then abnormally warm temps. In spring we can get flurries one day, then wear shorts the next. Summer can be Florida-like for a few days, then Seattle-like the next. Fall is probably the most consistent season around here, generally very stable up until late October when it swings more. There, was that so bad?
