It's kind of funny how some of you are happy when your dewpoint and humidity are low. Some of us are the exact opposite.
Yup! Summer sun is best when it's "slightly-searing" heat-wise; like a good jalapeno.
When it's like that, it's almost like the air smells "spicy."
But it needs to be above 85 F for that kind of effect.
So far we've had maybe 10 days like that this year...
Well, at least that's better than no days.
Most of the time when it's hot, I can feel the heat around me,
but it doesn't feel like it "passes through me," and I'm not already starting out with a very warm body,
but a body at a more neutral state; a mix of slightly warm and slightly cool.
That's why it's quite difficult for me to feel hot and even more difficult to feel dizzy from too much heat.
HOT, HOT, HOT here today. Had just enough rain this morning to shoot the humidity levels through the roof and then 83 for the high today. Right now it is down to 79 degrees with 74% humidity. Cooling down a bit, but the hottest yet this year for us.

You can tell you live in the north, I don't like the heat but I don't exactly describe 85 as feeling like a jalapeno. At least not in the Summer.

Okay, I agree with you; 85 F itself isn't even remotely hot.
But when it's already 85 F or higher, if you're standing in the bright sun shine, the sun feels pretty hot. * Especially with a dewpoint at 65+ F or relative humidity above 50%, like it usually is here.
Step into a car with the windows up momentarily and it is as hot as a jalapeno.
Windows rolled up on a sunny day in the low 80's F and it's not that hot.
Okay, maybe a better way to describe it is a "smoldering" feeling.
Sunlight when it's say 90 F plus has a "smoldering" feeling.
Or say hot like a hot stove.
*** A good jalapeno IMHO would have a nice bite, lingering burn, good pepper flavour too, but not be overpowering.
Basically, a good jalapeno has a "smoldering" feeling rather than a full-on fire.
Most of the time our sun in summer has a gentle and boring feeling...
Fine if that was winter, spring or fall, but disappointing for summer.

that pretty much describes how I feel, a windy 85F in cloud or shade isn't really hot , but is in full sunshine with no wind.

Smouldering? it has to be 110-120 to get anything that could be described as "smouldering"
The closest Melbourne ever has come to turning on a truly uncomfortable, 'smouldering' day was in December 2006, when one day reached 42ºC with smoke so thick that it looked like a fog. Now THAT was smouldering!

yep we get a surplus of those boring 22-25C summer days with a seabreeze aswell. How lame
The sun here even in July (if it shows itself) DOES actually feel warm and it is comfortable to be outside in a t-shirt You'd swear that it feels over 20ºC even when the actual air temp is perhaps 15C or even less, but I suppose that sensation stems from the intensity of the sunshine here.
If Melbourne winters were not continually overcast, many winter days could be spent comfortably dressed in trackies and a short-sleeve shirt.
