I'll start with Helmintoller's "1 in 10,000 year" April 1981 temperature swing. -82 to + 94 F (-63 to 34 C) in 11 days.

Weather from April 1 - 12, 1981, the most dramatic temperature change EVER recorded in Helmintoller history:

April 1: -70/-82 F (-57/-63 C) (yes that's NEGATIVE - This is the coldest April temperature ever recorded by a very large margin. Most Aprils don't go below 0 F / -18 C)
April 2: -47/-81 F (-44/-63 C)
April 3: -18/-64 F (-28/-53 C)
April 4: -2/-28 F (-19/-33 C)
April 5: 11/-15 F (-12/-26 C)
April 6: 23/-2 F (-5/-19 C)
April 7: 35/9 F (2/-13 C)
April 8: 48/21 F (9/-6 C)- Also the last frost of the 1980-1981 winter season.
April 9: 61/33 F (16/1 C)
April 10: 74/55 F (23/13 C) - first thunderstorms of 1981
April 11: 86/69 F (30/21 C)
April 12: 94/76 F (34/24 C) - only 6 F / 3 C cooler than record April high

Truly an unprecedented event, even by Helmintoller standards. Per 1970-1997 records, April 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 had record daily low temperatures. April 10, 11, and 12 were record highs for their respective dates.

This is how crazy it can get - a 176 F / 97 C swing in 11 days - but nothing like this has ever been recorded in Helmintoller aside from this one off event.

I currently have records from August 29, 1969 to April 30, 2005 and should be publishing the full 1969-2013 records by the end of the year on a Blogger blog. I will send links on the rate the climate page for Helmintoller.
