What the hell is that low? So crazy, i didn't think New York could be so hot.
Heat island. That's still rather rare, usual for heat waves is to have lows in the mid 70s (last summer warmest low was 77°F). But two recent summers had lows similar to 15 July 1995:
July 22, 2011. I think that got a lot press, date sounds familiar:

Looks like July 15, 1995 had a much worse heat index with as a very high dew point (77°F) coincended with the hottest temperatures. For July 22, 2011 the dew point was in the low 70s in the morning and then dropped with the afternoon heat.
