For those cold lovers that thought swimming in an ice fishing hole was too extreme and who said going for a run warms up the body, how about this challenge:

I heard on the news that this is the second year they've done this race and the temperature was around -25C with a windchill factor of -38C this year

No.

1) Why would I run a marathon in the first place?
2) Why would I do it in freezing conditions?
3) My knees and lungs hurts already when thinking of that venture. 43 km on pavement and -25C.

I don't do marathons myself, but I think it would be fun. It would sure beat some of those boiling-hot summer marathons.

I would try it out. I am bundled up anyways and can run to retain body heat. So it should not be a huge problem

BTW, have they set up stalls to take a leak from time to time . That's another Necessity if I am staying out in the cold for a very long time
