Does Miami count as tropical enough? I'd choose it cuz they get occasional cold snaps for more variety/seasonality.
Miami have a tropical climate, winter are just too warm for sub tropical climate and vegetations in Miami are tropical.

I would describe Miami as Semi-Tropical. it can support some tropical s but many can't tolerate our cold winters. if you look at the plants that make up S.FL Half of them are tropical and half are temperate suggesting a semi-tropical climate.
