Yesterday was last day and was terrible, the most humid day in the summer so far. Dew point reached 26.5°C in Buenos Aires and surpassed 27.0°C in some areas.

Buenos Aires, jan-23: low 28.2°C / high 37.0°C --> tied the highest minimum ever recorded
Rosario, jan-23: low 29.1°C / high 39.5°C --> highest minimum ever recorded

After a record-breaking december, january is being very hot too. Now a cold front has passed through the country and temperatures have plummeted. Hopefully the rest of the summer gets cooler conditions.

Interesting situation in Catamarca:
jan-21: 26.9°C / 42.5°C
jan-22: 29.9°C / 42.0°C
jan-23: 29.9°C / 43.5°C
Current temperature (2.00 pm): 13.7°C and raining
when you was experiencing that horrible heat wave i was at 1700 km experiencing the opposite and traveling in this road. My car termometer didn't topped 8ºC that day. Crazy.

Same old story, endless heatwaves in Aus and Sth America. But over here our arctic "summer" continues with yet another 3 C low yesterday! This is one of the coolest summers in recent memory.

Nice. It looks like winter here. I had a summer day a few years ago, when driving between two sea level locations (Invercargill >>> Dunedin), the car thermometer didn't get above 10C

There was a ground frost here about a week ago (-0.1C). Time for this nonsense to stop.

Seeing the photos, I guess it was near Bariloche, in the Lake District of Northwestern Patagonia.
It was pretty chilly last week.

In Totoral Lake, near Villa La Angostura, where i spend a week's holydays. That max was impressive at 800 above sea level and 40ºS for a summer.

I was near this border post (the chilean border is a fews miles from there) at the moment of the photo.

oh goodness the snowline is very low. What was it at? We had 2,000feet in August before.

You know I am not surprised that it hit 8c max as we can get that here in the summer but instead the fact that it occurred so far north in the Southern Hemisphere.
