Warm(ish) snow could probably happen on Friday here, Snowshowers with temps around 3-4°C (37-40°F) are forecasted but with dewpoints of about -2°C (28°F) and there is also enough cold air aloft with temperatures of below -35°C at 5000 meters thickness.

Dewpoints and cold aloft air seems to play a role too to get warm snow, i think the highest temperature were i had snow seen falling was about 6°C (43°F), if dewpoints and aloft air are cold enough then i suppose it can even snow up to the high 40s (8/9°C).

I think the warmest snow that has ever occurred is 47 F in NYC, snow above about 42-43 F is probably rare, but as long as the dew point is below freezing with enough cold air aloft, it can probably snow up to about 50 F or so. Above that, I'm not so sure.

Today the city of Río Gallegos in Santa Cruz Province, Patagonia, reported snow with 10ºC/50F. I don't know whether believe it or not. Might've been a mistake in the observation.

Snow in November and December always feels magical and awesome. <3 Nothing like the first snowfall of the year.

Snow in January and February feels a lot more blah though. And by March or April it's too slushy and feels like it doesn't belong. It shouldn't overstay its welcome when I know spring and summer are on their way so soon.

The best snow is the soft and cold but not too cold kind that sticks to the ground but not too much. To give everything a small layer of the magical Christmasy feeling. I have outgrown the need for enough snow to build snowmans or snow forts, but I love it when some sticks. I can't wait!

I still don't get this obsession with snow at Christmas. First off, Bethlehem didn't get snow, it had a climate pretty similar to the California Central Valley.
And two, in the southern hemisphere, Christmas comes in EARLY SUMMER!

It's not uncommon to snow here with temperatures in the low 40s but I've never experienced snow at anything warmer than 43-45.
