Actual Sounding from Balloon Launch in DC and VA at 12z this morning. Notice ROA warm layer and the actual OBS went from Overcast to freezing rain. And it was light because there's pockets of dry air.
Notice the low level dry air over DC also but very cold levels and no moisture. I LOVE this time of year.
We are getting snow tomorrow, Rain on Monday afternoon, Ice on Monday night, and light snow showers on Tuesday. South NJ is getting up to 4.7", yet we are limited to 1.8".
YOU ARE MISSED YET AGAIN . ONE TIP, HEAD SOUTH ON 95 FOR SNOW.
I like the snow, for sure, but not that ice forecast. I have to drive to work. Either way, I'm glad I only drive on relatively empty and familiar back roads to and from work instead of crowded highways if we're going to get ice.
Not sure I believe the half foot in PA or the 4-6" near Philly there but the Hi-res models pick up the higher elevations.
I can see 2-4 in those areas of CT though.
