I hate most winters, but I especially hate this winter.

-11F deviation from average since the beginning of the month, -20F since the 4th...being confined to my house and only running errands when absolutely necessary...huge amounts of snowfall...I don't see what there's TO LIKE about this winter. I'd rather just hibernate through it, and wake up in May or June.

I'm with gordo, obviously.

These cabbage palms are around every corner in central Florida. I can't think of a more welcome and uplifiting sight. Coconut palms are beautiful as well but personally, that's a bit over compensating for winter.

I don't like this Winter. I'd rather the temperature was average 6/7c (which is still mild), rather than nearly a week of 13 and 14c and not really falling below 10 at night.

Temps in the mid 50s fahrenheit are nice and welcome at the end of February/beginning of March, but feel alien in mid December with nearly 18 hours of darkness.

It's barely reached 10°C once in Buxton and we had 1°C just the night before last!

Living up 300m high can't be rated highly enough if you like it colder.

We've had days in a row of it, even worse on the Moray Firth and parts of N Ireland.

It's actually quite unsettling particularly after that Northerly which was quite cold for 2 days last Thursday to Saturday.

I've been enjoying the unseasonably mild weather, even though I'm a cold lover. If we're not going to see any proper winter weather (i.e. snow and hoar frost) then we might as well have a spell of mild weather. 13C here in December is very unusual. 16.2C as an OVERNIGHT (maximum) temperature in Achnagart, in the north west!

I'd like some very mild weather - at least that's interesting. We had 12C today, which is mild, but nothing too unusual.

That's 1.6C higher than Glasgow's record maximum temperature for December.
