I have been tracking the summer temperature at Death Valley since 1981.

It is getting closer to that time. Looks like that place is off to a good start. It has already hit the 120 degree F (48.8 C) or higher mark earlier this month:

Date----------- Max/Min

June 3, 2021-- 120/95 F (48.8/35 C)
June 4, 2021-- 121/97 F (49.4/36.1 C)

Supposed to be very hot in many locations in Southern California this coming week. Over 100 degrees F (37.7 C) in the valleys and well over 110 degrees F (37.7 C) in many desert areas.

The forecast for Death Valley shows predicted maximum temperatures at or above 125 degrees F (51.6 C) for 3 days. The forecast, of course, may be updated; still impressive for mid-June, though. The record maximum temperature for the month of June is 129 degrees F (53.8 C).

Here are the forecast temps:

I know, it is amazing.

Park employees and their family (since it is a National Park), college students and native Americans. Population is said to be 300 but probably varies during the year.
