Colder winters and warmer summers than your archetypical Mediterranean climate. This is precisely because of its high elevation. Madrid is still a Mediterranean climate.

So it would probably be correct to say it has continental tendencies, rather than influences.

I think it's important to use the appropriate word, so as not to distort meaning. Something weather geeks should be able to relate to.

I think the word I used was appropriate. I just get the impression that you're very argumentative regarding these particular subjects.

I'm certainly interested in debating the subject. I think altitude is often disregarded in climate classification.
