The highest: 39.8C at 8th August 2010 (all time record high in my city)

For Saskatoon Airport,

Coldest was -44.9 C in January 2004
Hottest was 38.5 C in August 2003

Other sites:
Saskatoon university fields: -47.0 C in January 2004
Saskatoon water treatment plant (urban core): 39.0 C in July 2007

My weather station (3 km north of the center) (records since 2006)
warmest: 37.3°C: 10th July 2010
coldest: -15.2°C: 7th February 2012

Another site (in the suburbs, 5 km northeast of me) (records since 2007)
warmest: 36.1°C: 19th August 2012
coldest: -15.8°C: 7th February 2012

Coldest: Not too sure.. for my area in Surrey just south of London about -9C

Hottest: 30.2C / 86F (18 July 2006)
Coldest: -10.8C / 13F (21 December 2010)

The site is on a hill, so gets more moderate weather than most towns in the area located in valleys. All-time records since 1973 are only 31.6C (2 August 1990) and -11.1C (12 January 1987).

38.5 is the highest temperature ever recorded in the UK correct?

For the city of Chicago since 2000

Coldest: O'Hare -27.8C might be broken on Monday morning
Hottest: Midway 40.6C

Suburbs:

Coldest Rochelle: -38.9C
Hottest Itasca: 42.8C

It is yes. There have been quite a few 36C ad 37C temperatures including 2006, but this was the first time 38C had been breached
