The last 30-year period averages 39.8°C/103.6°F in France. 3 years failed to reach 100°F in that period. The last year that failed to reach 40°C was, ironically, 2006.

The extremely minimum temperature has occurred in the Yukon 65 times, NWT 20 times, Alberta 14 times, Nunavut 10 times (including the past 2 years), Quebec 6 times, Saskatchewan 5 times, BC 1 time, and Ontario 1 time.

Most in a row = 8 for Yukon from 1979 to 1986.

On the cold end, 1906 stands out above the rest as the extreme coldest temperature was only -40.6 (in Dawson City, Yukon). This is a full 5 degrees warmer than the 2nd warmest extreme cold year.
